Our knowledge is in our people
Our strength in our families
Our inspiration is in the land
As a qualified social scientist and film maker (with 25 years experience working in the Northern Territory of Australia and Aotearoa NZ) Delphine collaborates with local experts to collect the primary research material (oral history, genealogies, cultural mapping, GIS etc) to inform organisations or community’s research and governance needs. Stories are worth treasuring. It is about recording the human fabric of what makes a place and its people, using video with dignity and building on the capacity within communities to grow, control and share knowledge. The living history can be then transformed it in a range of multimedia resources for communities or organisations. Past consultancies include Land claims and Native Title research, sacred sites protection, environmental and social impact studies, but also community engagement and mediation/dispute resolution.
Working closely with local communities and the arts and cultural sector, we are proud to produce compelling stories which may not otherwise make it to mainstream media. Passionate about oral history, cultural revitalisation and environmental awareness, we invite the voices of resistance, stories unheard.
Ex: series on the issue of water allocations in the Northern Territory, to a series of short films for a National museum/British Museum exhibition.
Inter-cultural communication is our passion and forte: from wide multilingual legal education resources in the Northern Territory of Australia to promoting homegrown Whanau Ora innovative health programs, we operate within cultural frameworks and with sensitivity. The resources we produce can include paper/web/multimedia as well as communication strategies design for organisations (Whanau Ora Wairarapa).
we are strongly committed to a community development approach. We like to share our knowledge and build capacity locally. Most of our projects will see us providing hands on video training for youth groups or community groups, and supporting sustainability and opportunities locally for the future.
Ex: promotional resources for Violence Fee Wairarapa Services, Bully Free Me, or Rangitane O Wairarapa we engaged with whanau and youth and provide training in film making, editing etc.
